FOR the first time ever, author Evelyn Waugh’s Decline and Fall has been adapted for television.
And it boasts an all-star cast including one of the most glamorous of the Desperate Housewives and TV favourites Jack Whitehall and David Suchet.

What time is Decline and Fall on tonight?
Decline and Fall started a fortnight ago, and concludes TONIGHT on BBC One at 9.00pm with the third and final hour-long episode.
It will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer shortly after airing.
What is it about?
The series is based on author Evelyn Waugh’s 1928 novel of the same name.
It tells the story of Paul Pennyfeather who is wrongly expelled from Oxford University for indecent exposure after he falls victim to a prank by members of the Bollinger Club.
He takes a job as a teacher at a public school in Wales and ends up falling for the mother of one of his pupils.
Who’s in the cast?
Jack Whitehall (Paul Pennyfeather)
The comedian and actor is best known for his stand-up comedy and for starring as JP in the Channel 4 series Fresh Meat.
Jack also starred in the BBC Three series Bad Education, which he wrote and was later adapted into a movie.
He’s also a regular panelist on Sky 1’s sports-based comedy quiz A league of Their Own.
Eva Longoria (Margot Beste-Chetwynde)
Eva became a household name when she starred as Gabrielle Solis in the award-winning US series Desperate Housewives.
She went on to star in films such as Harsh Times and Over Her Dead Body and was executive producer on comedy-drama series Devious Maids.
Eva is also an ambassador for L’Oreal.
David Suchet (Dr Fagan)
David is best known for his role as Agatha’s Christie’s famous detective Hercule Poirot which he played from 1989 to 2013.
While filming the final episode, Curtain, Suchet expressed his sadness at his final farewell to the Poirot character he had loved and said: “This is the death of a dear friend. For years it has been
Poirot and me — and to lose him is a pain almost beyond imagining.”
He played Edward Teller in the Eighties BBC drama Oppenheimer and has been a celebrated star of the West End stage.
Where is Decline and Fall filmed?
The adaptation was shot in 70 locations around Cardiff.
The first episode is set in a school – which is fictional and many scenes were filmed at Pinewood Studios outside Cardiff.
Outside scenes were shot on some stunning locations in south Wales.
